This current series continues my themes of water and the untramelled landscape and, now able to access the high country of the Snowy Mountains and the sandstone escarpments further north, I am provided with much beautiful and wild country rich in water features. After exploring and absorbing these terrains over a period of several days I return to my studio to create images that evoke the essence of what I've experienced. My art is sourced from many reference photos and writings, although the content of each work is drawn from memory and the visions which have stayed with me.

Each canvas is prepared with texture before being covered with rich, transparent colours from which I tease forms that suggest and evoke a sense of the environment in which I was immersed. My response at each stage of development emerges as a conversation or dialoque with the surface. I rarely know where this journey will lead but aim to offer an invitation to timeless contemplation for any who see the final image.
